'The Clubs first Mid Week Evening Match was held last Wednesday 24th June on Dock River C pegs.

On a bright and warm evening with the river quite weedy and clear, a good turnout of members were all looking forward to a good tight match.

This series of silver fish only matches, which are only for 3 hours, are becoming very popular with members.

At the final whistle it was Paul Chambers, on peg C13, who won the match with a good haul of mixed small silver fish for a 3lbs 15ozs weight. In second place was Harold Griffiths, on peg C11, with a weight of 3lbs 1oz of silver fish including a 12ozs and a 6ozs brace of Roach. Third place went to John Pettitt, on peg C27, with a weight of 1lb 8.5ozs of silver fish.

The next Mid Week Evening Match is Wednesday 1st July on Dock River C pegs. Draw is sharp at 5.30pm by the river. The match is from 6.00pm to 9.00pm followed by the weigh in.

The cost is only a £1 peg fee from everyone fishing. There are pools (optional) of £5 for those wishing to be in a sweepstake.

All members are welcome, so why not come along and enjoy a good evening on the river bank.
