Harwich Angling Club travelled to Layer Marney Lakes and Tiptree Reservoir, at the weekend, to fish the second of a series of six Essex Inter Club League matches.

With their strongest team available, on a windy and sunny day with the occasional showers and the venues water levels down, it would be a tough task for everyone.

Drawing peg 6 for all six sections it was going to be a good challenge for the team.

When all the results came in, Harwich Angling Club finished in a very disappointing seventh place achieving a team total of only 28 points.

However, top match angler Jonathan Coote proved yet again to be in outstanding form for Harwich Angling Club. Jonathan (E6 Lake 1) mastered the conditions perfectly and weighed in with an outstanding 32lbs 2ozs to finish first in his section picking up 10 points and finishing in a magnificent 4th place overall in the match. Also, with maximum section points from these first two matches, Jonathan is leading the EICL Individual KO League.

The other members in the squad were Dave Brown (A6 Lake 3) with 11lbs 1oz getting 6 points, Bob Oakley (F6 Tiptree Reservoir)) with 3lbs 4ozs getting 6 points, Laurie Snell (D6 Lake 2) with 0lb 9ozs getting 5 points, Graeme Edgar (C6 Lake 2) with 0lb 0.5oz getting 1 point and Keith Allen (B6 Lake 3) who did not weigh in.

Harwich Angling Club will be looking to improve in the remaining matches.
