Harwich Angling Club held it's annual M.Cook Memorial Open charity match this weekend on C Section of Dock River. With a good turn out of anglers, on an overcast blustery day with spells of sunshine and rain, the river looking in great condition, everyone was looking forward to a tight match. Although every angler was putting fish in their nets, it was local top match angler for the region Paul Chambers (Wickford Browning) who showed the way with an outstanding display of match angling. Fishing the pole down the middle and across to the far reeds on peg 34 he was soon catching fish. At the final whistle Paul Chambers weighed in with a magnificent 16lbs 9ozs of mainly bream and skimmers along with some silver fish to win with a very comfortable margin. In second place was Laurie Snell on peg 40 with 4lbs 6ozs of bream, skimmers and silver fish and third was Graeme Edgar on peg 49 with 4lbs 5ozs of bream and silver fish with Dave Brown in fourth place on peg 46 with 3lbs 3ozs of skimmers and silver fish.
