Harwich Angling Club held the fifth in a series of six Mid Week Evening club matches during the week on C pegs section of Dock River. On a dull, overcast and cloudy evening with the occasional spells of rain, it was going to be a tough match. With the river high and in good colour, tactics and bait presentation was going to be crucial. Fishing the section of river from pegs C20 to C32 for this 3 hour silver fish evening match, bonus fish or quality silver fish in an anglers swim would be an advantage.

When the end of match whistle came, it was the middle section pegs that held the fish and decided the match results. With every angler opting to go for quantity of fish, and everyone putting fish in their nets, it was going to be a close match. At the weigh-in match angler Paul Chambers (C26 peg) fishing the pole close in the margins and down the middle who came out on top with a winning weight of 3lbs 14.5ozs of silver fish. Closely following in second place was in-form angler Graeme Edgar (C28 peg) with 3lbs 8.5ozs of silver fish with Keith Allen (C24 peg) getting the third place with 3lbs 0ozs. In fourth place was Duncan Wrigley (C22 peg) with 2lbs 1ozs.

With just one match left in this series of matches, the league position for the Champion of the Mid Week Evening matches will be decided in the last match.
