Latest Catches and Matches News
One of the Clubs carp specialist anglers Richard Pudney (Pictured Below)has broken our Bradfield Lake carp record and is the now the 'Top Rod' for that water. Fishing the field side bank to the edge of the reeds with boilies during a day/night session, Richard landed this perfectly conditioned common carp weighing in at 39lbs 12ozs. Richard has been targeting the lake over the past few months and has had good success since the beginning of this year with some low thirties and many twenties of both common and mirror carp. Members are finding the lake giving up some excellent catches not only of the carp but also of the bream and tench from this mixed fishery. The second in a series of six Mid Week Evening club matches took place during the week on the B pegs section (The Willows/Golf Course) of Dock River. With another good turn out of club members competing on a sunny and overcast, yet a warm evening, with the river having good colour and a slight flow, every angler knew there was fish to be caught in this stretch of the river and were hoping for the bonus fish in their swims, for this silver fish only match. From the start of this 3 hour match everyone started putting fish in their nets, and when the whistle went to end the match, at the weigh-in it was the in form Dave Brown (B23 peg) fishing the pole to the margins and middle river with maggot and pinkie who again came out on top with a winning weight of 4lbs 4ozs of roach, rudd and perch. In second place was Paul Chambers (B11 peg) fishing the pole to the close margin with 3lbs 5ozs of silver fish, with Graeme Edgar (B22 peg) closely following in third place, with 3lbs 0ozs weight of silver fish. Fourth place went to Graham Hazelton (B17 peg) with 2lbs 15ozs and in fifth place was Dan Longley (B16 peg) with 1lb 14ozs including a fine bonus perch. '
